Woodgate Beach Hotel Motel caravan park is a family owned & operated business. The hotel has been operating since 1987, since the new owners have come on board at the end of 2015, the hotel has undergone some major renovations to create comfortable & family friendly atmosphere.
With a full refurbished upstairs Function center ‘The Deck’ overlooking the ocean, both indoor & outdoor dining areas plus public bar and gaming room. The latest addition to the hotel see kids of all ages impressed with the opening of our very own KIDS ROOM!
In 2017 the hotel also opened a 27-site caravan park out the back of the hotel which Power, Water & Wi-Fi facilities to all in-house guest along with a full laundry facility & amenities. Every Friday night sees the hotel’s popular PUB RAFFLES take place with over $500 in prizes to be won! There is something for the entire family, So we’ll see you at the gate!
About Woodgate Beach Hotel Fishing Classic
What started out as a few family and friends sitting around throwing ideas back and forward about things to do and events that would make this already great place thrive, It was suggested that we host a fishing competition as a way to attract locals alike along with new visitors to our small seaside town and help promote and boost business not only for the hotel, But also the other local businesses within the township and surrounding areas.
With that being said, In 2015 our first un-official committee was formed (Namely Family) and the wheels set into motion for the first inaugural Woodgate Beach Hotel Fishing Classic to be held in September of 2016. Our first year was a hit with only having a total prize pool of around $4500 total and 60 entrants (Mostly family, friends & Locals) to kick things off, we knew that we had discovered something great not only for the local businesses within the township of Woodgate, But also for the greater community & region. After the success of our first year, we decided to go bigger and better each year and continuing to grow our comp in large numbers year in, year out. This was all made possible by opening up the event to sponsorship opportunities and getting the local businesses involved to assist in increasing our prizes and giveaways and make it all the more appealing for the keen anglers and families to make the journey each year to the event.
Our comp is now run by Queensland Fishing Classics (QFC) who are very passionate about not only providing a high-quality event, But also ensuring that everyone in attendance and involved in the event each year is the top priority with life long memories made and promoting what our great township & region has to offer.
This event also would not be possible without the support of our amazing sponsors (Past & Present) that have played a vital role in making this event the success it is to date. We would also like to take this opportunity thank the amazing families, Friends, and community clubs that have been involved each in every year to ensure this weekend each and every year is a weekend to remember!!!
